Kidnapping of Pocahontas
by Michelle

Pocahontas was the daughter of Chief Powhatan. The Powhatan tribe lived
in Virginia.
In spring of 1613, while Pocahontas was going somewhere along the Potomac
River, she ran into Captain Samuel Argall, a British sea captain. Argall
made Pocahontas a hostage of his. At first Pocahontas was a hostage on
Argall’s
ship. She was on the ship for months. Then she moved to Jamestown. Jamestown
is located very near the Powhatan tribe.
Although she was a prisoner to Jamestown, she was treated like an Indian
princess. She was introduced to a religion called Christianity. She also
was introduced to a man called John Rolfe, a widow and an English man who
started tobacco growing. John Rolfe saw Pocahontas as a and barbaric-mannered
princess.
In 1614, John Rolfe and Pocahontas were married. Her Christian name
is Rebecca Rolfe. Her son, Thomas was born in 1616.Then she when to visit
England.
Then, she visited King James and Queen Anne of England, but at that
time she caught a very contagious sickness called Small Pox. This sickness
affects easily on Indians and her son Thomas is the healthiest Indian alive.
On March 1617, Pocahontas sailed back home. On March 21,1617, Pocahontas died
on the age 32!
