Paul Revere
by Ben

Paul Revere was born on New Year`s day, 1735. At age thirteen he went to work at his father`s shop as a apprentice. Paul married Sara Orne in 1757. Sara and Paul had eight children but two died young and shortly after that Sara died. Soon after she died he met Rachel Walker and they married in 1773. He later led a group in the Boston Tea Party. In 1775 Paul made his famous ride. Once the war ended Paul became a silversmith again and on May 10, 1818 he died of an illness.

Paul Revere is famous for his midnight ride. When the two lanterns where hung in the Old North Church, Paul began his famous ride. He rode from his house to Lexington and half way to Concord where he was captured. He rode with William Dawes the whole time but Samuel Prescot joined them at Lexington and finished Paul`s ride to Concord. His main goal was to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were coming to arrest them. That is why Paul Revere is famous.

Paul was a great American Patriot and loved America. It started in Boston, Massachusetts. Paul Revere wanted freedom from the British. He was involved in the Revolutionary War. He wanted America to be a free country with its own government. He helped us become the United States of America and now we have a democracy.

I took a trip to Paul`s house and this is what I saw. I saw a chair he sat in, a bed he slept in and some stuff out of silver. I also saw the Old North Church, a statue of him, and two plaques for him.
